【摘要】:Theuseoflaboratoryobtainedpolishingcurvesandspeedgradientsonproposedaggregatecombinationsandpavementmixturesarehelpfultoolsinpredictingthepolishingcharacteristicsofthesesurfacesifplacedinfieldservice.1.1Thispracticedescribesalaboratoryprocedureforestimatingtheextenttowhichaggregatesorpavementsurfacesarelikelytopolishwhensubjectedtotraffic.Specimenstobeevaluatedforpolishingresistanceareplacedinacirculartrackandsubjectedtothewearingactionoffoursmall-diameter,pneumatictireswithoutuseofabrasiveorwater.Terminalpolishisachievedafterapproximately8hofexposure.
